Target Five / Vulnerability Lifecycle Management

Black Radar

Any scanner. One view of risk. Managed remediation.

Black Radar is Target Five's vendor-agnostic platform for managing the full vulnerability lifecycle. Whatever scanners you use – commercial, open-source or both – Black Radar unifies their findings, removes duplicates, adds asset and owner context and ranks everything by real risk. Then it drives each vulnerability from discovery through assignment and fix to verification. Leadership sees the risk trend; IT knows what to fix first.

The problem

01

Many tools, no big picture.

Every scanner has its own console, format and severity model. Comparing or merging them means manual work in Excel.

02

Thousands of findings with no owner.

An export assigns no tasks, tracks no deadlines and verifies no fixes.

03

Groups of companies have blind spots.

Each company handles vulnerabilities differently and group leadership has no comparable data.

How it works

01

Connect sources

Commercial and open-source scanners, local probes, attack surface monitoring, Patchsignals and manual findings from pentests and audits.

02

Normalise & de-duplicate

One format; one vulnerability = one record, however many sources report it.

03

Context & prioritisation

Asset criticality, owner, exploitability and exposure. Priority by real risk, not CVSS alone.

04

Lifecycle management

Owner, deadline (SLA), fix or approved exception, verification scan and closure with an audit trail.

05

Central BI & reporting

Risk trend, MTTR, SLA compliance, comparison across companies, sites and segments.

Key features

  • Vendor-agnostic ingestion – commercial and open-source scanners, imports, API
  • Multiple vulnerability databases for broader coverage and fewer missed findings
  • Risk-based prioritisation: asset criticality, exploitability, exposure
  • Finding workflow: open → assigned → in remediation → verified, including exceptions and risk acceptance
  • Group BI: data per company and for the whole group, with separate permissions
  • ITSM/ticketing and SIEM integrations; EU cloud or your own data centre

For groups and holdings

One central probe scans externally and internally, while local probes (a VM or small appliance) run in each company. Scans alternate between vulnerability databases and their frequency grows over time. Everything flows into Black Radar: each company's IT sees its own findings and tasks, and the group CIO/CISO get a consolidated management summary and trend. The pilot runs in the EU cloud, then production moves to your data centre.

What you get

  • One prioritised “fix this now” list instead of exports from several tools
  • Measurable KPIs: critical findings, MTTR, SLA compliance, risk trend
  • Management summary for leadership and the security committee
  • An audit trail of the full lifecycle as evidence for the regulator and ISO 27001

Packages & engagement options

Network-wide scan

One-off internal and external scan with no IP limits and basic OT support, evaluated in Black Radar, with a management summary and remediation plan. The ideal first step.

Vulnerability Management as a Service

Probes, regular scans at an agreed frequency, Black Radar, monthly reporting and remediation management by our analyst. 12- or 36-month contract (better terms).

Black Radar for groups

Central and local probes, group BI, reporting for group leadership and each company, pilot in the cloud → on-premise production.

Black Radar as a platform

A licence for your own security team, SOC or MSP – connect your scanners, we provide the platform and support.

FAQ

01

Do we have to replace our scanners?

No. Black Radar is vendor-agnostic – it processes the output of the tools you already have, and we only add what's missing.

02

Will scanning load the network?

We schedule scans off-peak with limited speed; sensitive and OT systems can be excluded or covered without scanning via Patchsignals.

03

Where is the data?

Pilot in the EU cloud; production in the cloud or your own data centre.

04

Do you fix the vulnerabilities for us?

We manage and verify remediation, and help with the technical fix as part of consulting.
